All Go!!
Hi,
Sorry I didnt post yesterday. Its been all go over here (and no thats not just a poor excuse) - as well as there being errors with blogger meaning I couldnt post:

So whats been happening ??

Very little actually which is why im finding it pretty hard to think of something to tell you today. .... Oh yeah Sonic Radio's TLH went up 1 hour (woo - but thats not good enough).

Ive have just finished reading a story about a fellow blog user who openly admitted he took part in scamming people on his blog - Just how thick can someone be.. Might as well just phone the police and hand yourself in because while its unlikely millions will see a blog (unless a really popular one) people can easily stumble across it. Authough this person whos blog it was also worked for a really big online comapny. So I guess that was really really stupid.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Just to stir things up a little here Quick Comp 3 for MyTails.com (wonder if anyone will notice it) - Got the answer ? Then go post in the Revival forum at mytails.com

Question:

"You are my _ _ _ _ _ _ of things I know, are you are the _ _ _ _ drops that run down my _ _ _ _ _, everything you've taught me you wont have to _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _, in my _ _ _ _ _ you'll always be _ _ _ _ me"

**From Artist (Song) -- Wendy Lee (With Me)**

Nice and easy one for you :oP

Take care guys and gals and ill see you tommorow!!

Big News Monday
Hello people,
The big news of today is Sony have been ordered by the courts to halt production of playstation/playstation 2 and pay a fine of almost $91 million.

Ok, So they wont actually do the above because they have appealed the case and if they lose again they will likely pay the fine and enter into a royalty agreement with the company suing them "immersion".

Why are they suing them?
Basically the dual shock controleers that vibrate during aspects of gameplay was a copyrighted idea by the company "immersion". So by Sony using this without there permission in theory they are doing wrong. Just makes you wonder if any more charges against other companies like Nintendo using similer functions in their controllers will also be hit with lawsuits - Or if they have already made an agreement with "immersion"... We dont really know but if you guys do them mail me on matt@the-computer.co.uk or leave a comment.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Just a note:

DONT GO MISSING OUT!!! GET WINNING

You have more chance doing it now before the site gets promoted because the less people who enter the better your odds - Simple!!

Ofcourse the competitions continue on SonicTheHedgehog.net aswell :o)

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Its that time again (well were a bit late) to announce "member of the week"

Well done Nivomi.. For your continued dedication. You are this weeks "member of the week"

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Well thats your fill for today. Ive got more easter eggs to eat.

Lot 'o' Fun!
Hi,
Sorry I didnt post yesterday. A mix of getting Sonic Advance 3 for the DS (only £15 on amazon. How could I refuse) and having a big assignment to hand in today. But the good news for me is I have some times of now for making more fun and detailed posts.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Todays post isnt going to be to long today as I slept funny last night and my necks been killing all day so all I want to do at the moment is lie down heh. Hopefully will be ok by tommorow. A side from that ive been up from 6am again doing the coursework and lots of other stuff (work etc) and its about 10:30pm so I dont think im gonna be online for much longer.

UPDATE - The Possessed Stitch doll we talked about a few days ago is still on ebay at the current price of $300 .. Crazy!!

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

So enough about possessed things. I got sonic advance 3 today alongside Project Rub to play on my lovely DS (wow theres two Sonic Team games right there) - Both pretty cool. And what I love about the DS is you can put a DS game and a Advance game in so if you take your DS out with you you can take along two games over one without having to carry anything other that the DS (Goto be a Advance and DS game though).

Sonic Advance 3 is a fantastic game really updated from the last 2D sonic games I played and Project Rub (called Feel The Magic in the US) is just a fun game.

What I dont get though is why it has taken so long for nintendo to catch up with the portable gaming quality of the Game Gear (ok they have prob overtaken it now but the Game Gear was fantastic for the time) - Might make an interesting topic to look at in the comming weeks.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Ok im done. See you tommorow!! .. Remember to keep posting on the forums and listening to SonicRadio (were at 153 TLH now which is fantastic :o) -- And you dont want to miss this Sunday when we will be looking in depth into another character (last week we did "Big The Cat") -- Who will it be? I dont know yet so you guys definatly dont know hehe.... Enough said, join us then (and every day leading upto then ofcourse!!)

See you tommorow!

Possessed Stitch!!

Wow how crazy is this?
"By Lester Haines

Published Tuesday 22nd March 2005 10:02 GMT

Those readers who feel that their lives are lacking a little excitement may well be interested in snapping up a possessed Stitch teddy bear which has terrorised a Canadian family to the point that they are now compelled to take the only course of action left to them - offload the voodoo devil cuddly toy on eBay before it decapitates the entire clan in an blood-splattered slashfest of mindless, knife-driven violence.

If you think we're exaggerating here, think again. Since buying the apparently innocent toy in Florida, the unnamed vendors have been subjected to a litany of horror so spine-chilling that those of a nervous disposition are advised to quaff a stiff brandy before continuing. Here are the edited highlights:

Last summer, my fiance & I were visiting her family in Florida, and taking a stop in Disneyworld. As big fans of the Lilo & Stitch movies, we were interested in buying some Stitch toys. We ended up getting quite a few, of all shapes & sizes. We have had no problem with any of them - they're all regular friggin teddy bears. One, however, has been a problem since day one. That was the one we picked up on our way from Orlando to Daytona Beach.

We stopped at a little out of the way place while looking for a restaurant. This place was small, and kind of dingy, but they had food, and a 'gift shop', if you could call it that. I wish I could remember what it was called, but the only thing that seems to ring a bell is 'Leary'. Anyway, they had another Stitch toy there, which looked just as good as any we had picked up in Disneyworld, and was a quarter of the price. The person behind the till seemed a little too pleased to be making the sale, and now I can see why.

We displayed the toys on our TV stand, with some other stuffed animals my fiance has collected over the years. Nothing has ever moved them, except for when cleaning & dusting, and then they are promptly put back in place. After the new Stitch toys were put up, about once a week, we would find one or two of the other stuffed animals on the floor... This became a semi-regular occurance until early November, when we awoke to a loud slam in the middle of the night. I got my fiance to stay upstairs, and crept down to see what was happening... I turned the light on at the front door, and saw that the items on the floor were actually all of the stuffed animals, and other Stitch toys. The only thing left on our TV stand was the Stitch we had picked up from that store. That would have been enough, but the top of the TV was cracked as well - it looked as though something heavy had been dropped onto it.

At this point, I knew that there was something wrong with this 'toy', so right then & there I threw it in the garbage... and went back up to bed to explain to my fiance why that Stitch would not be on the shelf when she got up in the morning. Since I didn't want to scare her, I told her it got ripped open when it fell off the shelf, and I had to throw it away, as it looked too bad to repair. Sleep was hard to come by that night.

The next day I got up early, emptied the garbage, and threw it in the dumpster in the parking lot before leaving for work. Problem solved. Or so I thought...

To cut to the chase here, every time the terrified owners tried to dispose of the Stitch devil toy, it reappeared in the house as if nothing had happened. Attempts to bury it in a landfill site on the other side of the city, burn the monster with lighter fuel, dismember it or offload the emissary of Satan at a local pawn store proved fruitless - on each occassion it turned up again, good as new, atop the TV stand.

Finally, the vendor decided to incapacitate the beast by pinning it under the TV (see photo of restrained Devil toy) and turning to the only hope of salvation. No, not the Catholic church, but rather the world's favourite auction site.

Now call us old-fashioned if you must, but surely the time-honoured tradition for offloading cursed items is to pass them to the next victim without his or her knowledge. Those unfamiliar with the concept are directed to 1957 Brit horror classic Night of the Demon, wherein the passing of a demonic paper results in a very nasty end for one promising B-movie career.

Indeed, our eBayers in this case do not do themselves many favours with their caveat emptor section:

Please, if you have children or pets, think twice before bidding. This is not a 'toy' for a child. I can not say with any assurance that you will have the same experiences as us, but there is a strong likelyhood that you will see what I mean, and I do not want to feel any guilt for harm coming to a child or an animal.

We also cannot guarantee that the item will stay with you after you have received it. If it stays as persistent as it has previously, it may try to get back to us. I will not be putting a return address on the package, as if when you realize that the item is evil, as I'm sure you will, I do not want you sending it back to us. It will become your responsibility as soon as it enters your possession.

The winnning bidder should, though, rest assured that it will not leap out of the box on arrival and get stuck straight into the kids with a chainsaw:

The buyer is to pay for shipping, in whatever form they would like. I can dismember the item before shipping as well, if you would feel safer that way, but I can not guarantee it will arrive in this form. If you would like the toy shipped without being cut up, I will attempt to immobilize it with either duct tape, or rope, or a combination of the two. It is your choice.

And there you have it. Unsurprisingly, the possessed Stitch teddy is currently standing at a modest $137.50 with four days left to run."

Day Seven - New Games
Hi,
A few posts on the forum talking about the two new Sonic titles comming out this year. While this information is available all over the net ive brought together some of the main facts about the game for the STHNET users.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Shadow The Hedgehog (Unconfirmed but likely to be on PS2 and Gamecube for certain):

The game will look into the darker side of the sonic universe and from screenshots its seems like the graphics are similar to those in Sonic Heroes.

In this new game the staring role will be playing with shadow over sonic. And something new to sonic games is that shadow appears to have a pistol (or gun) or some sort which will be used to take out the bad (good?? .. confused) guys. "Shadow appears to mix the classic 3D platforming elements of Sonic Adventure with the insane weapon shooting of the Ratchet and Clank series." (IGN.com, 1996-2005)

Ofcourse as this game was only recently announced there are very few details but fingers crossed a release date in the fall seems likely.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Sonic DS (Nintendo DS - betcha didnt see that being the console of choice for a name like Sonic DS lol):

Very few details about this game. Even though UK site play.com has it listed to launch 29/04/2005. Will keep you updated but that seems a little too soon given the amount of detail on the game available.

Ok so what do we know ?? .. Well that the stylus will be the main weapon of choice for controlling the game (which seems to attract the anti-stylus crew.. Its something different so therefore it must be the worst sonic game ever - google search to find some of these people who will judge a game before playing it). But yes on the bottom (touch screen) it is anticipated that you can make sonic go faster, jump, grab rings etc using the stylus. With the actual game on the top of the screen. Unlike the Sonic games on the SP we seem to have some really great 3D graphics for the game. Im definatly looking forward to this having just got my DS (and completing warioware touched - yey me. Authough I mastered it on the gamecube so I guess I had that advantage when playing it for the first time)..

Thats all guys/gals. Join us tommorow.

Day Six - A New Week
Day Six,
Yesterday we did an article that I wanted to see what the rest of you thought. When scanning over a few dedicated sites which had Sonic section I was almost guarenteed to find either a Big The Cat dislike thread or a poll for the worst character.

I would like the thank Blash for his comments on the subject that brought up some interesting points. Is the fact big is fat that people dont like him, is this wrong if this is the case? Ofcourse it is but in a world of fashion, supermodels and plastic surgery is anything right in this world ?

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I feel we must also recognise that while Big The Cat has less fans than the others (its a fact, cant really be argued that that isnt the case) he does indeed have fans:

Neoseeker:
"My favourite is Big the cat, my second fave would be Amy."

IGN:
"1. you is your favorite character? Big The Cat
2. who's faster Sonic or Shadow? Shadow"

I have to admit that its harder to find the good things than the bad but it can be done.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Another well done to Blash for winning the first competiton on TheSonicDaily.. Which prize will he choose ??
CAR, FILM OR RAIN

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

We have added a few more non-sonic tracks to Sonic Radio. Authough we always only add a few non-sonic tracks at the time and see how well they do. We will eventually find the best type of music that sonic fans like to listen to (that isnt a sonic song)... Ok maybe we wont. But we'll keep trying. The two tracks we added a couple of days ago seem to be fairing up well:

The Monkees - When I saw her face
Blink 182 - All the small things

The ultimate test will be the HOT/COLD chart which will be published later in the week on TSD (Thats TheSonicDaily incase ya didnt know).

Thats all for today. Im going off now to see what I can pull together for tommorow so join us then!

See ya tommorow!

Day Five - Big The Cat
Howdy!! Sunday Gang!!!,
Ok its sunday, dont really feel like doing much (even though I have an assignment due in at uni early next week so doing nothing isnt ideal, but meh. My choice).

This sunday ive got a topic (not one I will argue for or against in terms of what I think - ill just add constructive points... I hope) that I seem to notice crop up alot of times in the sonic community and that is why do people hate big the cat so much?

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

From IGNBoards:
"Big is a fat a$$ who can't do crap."

"hes fat and fishes... and his retarded speech make you want to kill your tv."

"Fat, Retarted, Childish, Dumb-lookin, Speech problem, has no life, and has a frog friend(Which is his only reason to live or be in Sonic Heroes)...Sounds Suspicious.......heh....in other words....yea..he's gay...."

--Pretty harsh comments there but I thought id post them in their unedited state--

This comment probably hits the nail right on the head as far as constructive reasoning for his being so disliked.

"big and fat (doesnt fit with the hip fast paced games of sonic the hedgehog) "

"Fishes ( once again one of those slow annoying things that just doesnt fit with sonic games...) "

--I agree that his lack of fitting in with the typical Sonic character could be why he is not favored by many--

From SonicTheHedgehog.net Forums:
Posted by myself (forgot about this post heh) - "Big the cat kinda annoys me."

Posted by Nivomi: "its so big man, he sucks like a idiot."

Even Hardcore fan Knuckles has a secret dislike for the "big man": " how can you guy's slam sonic charaters? but yet if I had to say, big is kinda dumb."

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

A thought for you lot posted somewhere else (moving of solely big for the moment):

From GameRevolution:
"In the 10-year lifecycle of Sonic the Hedgehog, have you noticed that every supporting character has been designed around 3 basic principles? Characters are either:
A- Evil Mirrors of Sonic
B- Jarringly Annoying
C- Fat"

Perhaps people just dont want to accept new additions to Sonic The Hedgehog ?? - Or maybe all the above is true and the sega team (as sonic team as a company is no more, even though there all working at sega so there will be lots and lots of sonic games to come hopefully for years and years to come) need to get working harder on the character development.

Nothing can please everyone though, which is why some people are sonic fans. And some are not.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Wow I could keep going on analysing this but I wont as:
A. Its Sunday
B. Ill not have anything to talk about next sunday :o)

See ya tommorow!

Day Four - SonicRadio
Day Four,
Wow! Ive just checked the stats for sonic radio today and yesterday we had almost 24 TLH. What does this mean? Well in theory it means that at least one person was listening to the station at somepoint during the day. When ever I login to I always see people listening and never a 0 in the current listeners box which is fantastic. I did a big update to the station yesterday, added loadsa new tracks and got rid of some of the not so popular ones as well as re-ordering some things. Hopefully SonicRadio can go from strength to strength and even though there has been little promotion it seems to have accumulated a great fan base who tune in on a regular basis (A big thank you to the listerners. We put alot of effort into the station and feel proud and happy when we get emails of how much you are enjoying the station!)

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Im working on a little bit of a base page which will interlink the 4 sites together so hopefully will have some more information for you on that.

Im afraid this edition of TheSonicDaily is going to be a bit short as ive been at work all day so am tired and really have nothing much to say because of the fact that I have been at work all day. However here is the latest HOT/COLD chart from SonicRadio (This will be a new addition to TheSonicDaily and no longer on the forums (authough you are welcome to discuss the charts on the forum)

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Deem Bristow

We were all saddened to hear about the death of Deem Bristow (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0109941/) - He was the voice of Robotnik (eggman) on the Sonic games. Along with doing work with films such as the (should of been) classic Problem Child.

He died on January 15th, 2005 at a singles dance, when he collapsed and died upon arrival to hospital.

The following was an e-mail sent to one of Deem's fans by the voice actor for Sonic, Ryan Drummond. (note: for all of you that are familiar with the names of the voice actors for STH, the name Jen is not to be mistaken for the voice actor of the same name.)

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Hey Jen,
Ryan here. How are you, my dear? Listen, we've had a tragedy over here in SoCal, and you're the first "fan"-type person I've let know about it. DEEM BRISTOW, voice of Dr. Robotnik, your favorite, my friend and co-worker, sadly died last Saturday night. Here is the copy from the E-card I got from Lani Minella:

"It is with great sorrow and shock that I tell you about a great loss. Deem Bristow passed away last night (1/15/05), collapsing at a singles dance and dying shortly thereafter at Sharp hospital. His mother says he loved the beach and California so much, he will probably be "buried at sea." An autopsy is being done and he was an organ donor so just his corneas and some bone and tissue will be taken to help others. His mother, Peg, will try and let me know what we might be able to do for her and I will pass on information once I have it. We will miss Deem very much and this was a devasting shock. Feel free to contact me if you have any ideas about a tribute or something we can do."

So there you have it. The funeral is Saturday monrning, the 22nd, at 11am (P.S.T.). That might be when you're reading this. I'll be there passing on my respects, please feel free to attend in spirit from wherever you are. Could you do me a favor? I haven't put anything out to any of the SONIC sites about this. Do you think you could spread the word in the SONIC community for me? Just post a little something (feel free to cut and paste from this email if you want) and tell everyone to "pass it on". Deem was so great as the voice of Eggman, and I know alot of fans will be saddened to hear that we won't be hearing his great voice again. Play a round of your favorite Sonic game in his honor today!

Love and respect,
Ryan Drummond

Day Three - Welcome
Day Three,
Welcome all to the next very exciting instalment of TheSonicDaily !!
Today it seems like we have had a few new members sign up at SonicTheHedgehog.net's Forum which is fantastic. Authough they havent posted (NOOOO!! - post people). Im currently trying to think up some outragiously exciting new ideas to get people posting again but it really isnt and easy task.

I mean I could do something really crazy like the first person to post the phrase "Mix it up at TSD" wins a car. Authough due to lack of funds that wont be possible. Authough maybe I can think of some prize. So go on, if you post that phrase on the forum (and are the first person to do it you will get a special prize from the STHNET prize vault) - I guess its also a cheap comp to do to get people to keep comming back to TheSonicDaily 0--when will he do another crazy comp and so forth.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

So what have I been upto today. Well I had a lovely exam at uni which was great fun. And then I got home to try and find a new mobile phone as mines getting a little old now.

(Wow that really didnt take up much room!)

Ok each week Im going to do a member of the week sort of thing on here and to kick it off heres dark_jessa's website http://www.geocities.com/twinklepark_zone/ .. Dark_Jessa is a fantastic drawer of sonic characters and has contributed so much to STHNET. So heres a little something for you :o)

Just hope you get to see it as havent seen you for a while (you getting missed so please come back!)

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Ok I guess thats it for today. I was going to end with a joke but there really is a lack of Sonic jokes available. So will have to dedicate a whole article to jokes one of the days I think.

Stay tuned!!

See ya tommorow!

Day Two - Bought a Nintendo DS
Day Two,
Firstly I must apologise for not posting yesterday. I had to do some studying for an exam I had at uni today.

Anyway after much oooing and ahhring I decided to purchase a Nintendo DS today. Got it at a great price too and I got a code for 10% off so it worked out at £84.00 or thereabouts which from a RRP of £99.99 is ace. I also got the games WarioWare Touched and Sonic Teams Project Rub (will tell you what I think of this when I get it in the next few days).

Also rumour has it that Sonic DS is comming out 29/04/2005.. in the UK. Will keep you all updated on that as im sure fellow DS owners will also be looking out for this game. After a search round I have really found very little information on this game but am looking forward to it anyway. If any of you guys/gals have any info then let me know at matt@the-computer.co.uk or post on the sonicthehedgehog.net forum :o) ...

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Im currently working on mixing some sonic tunes with everyday tunes and doing a special weekend Mix program on SonicRadio. Will keep you updated on how that develops to authouhg its not an easy task sorting it out but im determined to do it as it seems like it would be a cool addition to the station.

That about wraps things up for today!! .. Join us tommorow when hopefully I wont have been lazy (i mean wont have a test to revise for) and not posted.

See ya tommorow!

Day One - The Introduction
Day One,
Really I feel I should start of by introducing who Is this person writing the articles.

Well my name is Matthew (as you probably guessed seeing as my posting name is Matt) - But just to confirm that that is indeed the case to those who may have been a little unsure.

Im currently at uni studying marketing with finance and while the finance part is pretty annoying I try to get through it. Im also working at a local store called Netto (which is indeed Scandinavian for value) just to pull a bit of money together during the time of study - definatly somewhere I dont see myself at in the future.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

So whats going on with the sites at the moment?
Were currently working on getting the new design forum developed in a way that will not make the new site difficult for current users to use and in a way that you will beable to continue to post on the new board without having to do to much on your part on the transaction over to the new forum. We will ofcourse transfer everything over to the forum so you can feel right at home. And hopefully a lovely new look will spark as much interest in the forum as we are currently seeing @ SonicRadio (thanks to all the listeners of that by the way).

Were always looking to add fun and different tracks to SonicRadio and we hope that the mix of weird and wonderful songs from the sonic games along with the classics, some non-sonic music and words from our listeners make the station be one you will continue to go back to. 150 people have now bookmarked the station in their favorites which makes me very happy.

The newest addition to the site ala TheSonicDaily really need little speak on what updates are to come as the site is still fresh and developing. I hope that some interesting topics will be discussed. We will eventually get other writers for the daily topics too so you wont just have to listen to boring old me.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

So far for this week I have planned to try and dig out some other the sonic books I had as a child and post some articles that I find of particular interest on the site. The joke book dedicated to sonic jokes should provide a little entertainment atleast :o). Along with the wheres Sonic book and the annual (not sure how many annuals were done, I only have the one though - If you do know the exact numbers email me matt@the-computer.co.uk and ill let you know for those that might possible be interested.)

Join us tommorow where I shall hopefully have found the Sonic joke book (woo) and will have something very interesting to tell you I am sure.

Well thats day one over and done with -- Im sure your hoping for more creative articles than today and I wil definatly try to entertain even the most unentertainable of you out there - We shall see, tommorow is another day, next week is another week, next month is another month.

See ya tommorow!
